Transfers Helping Transfers is open to all transfer students as a way to help them acclimate to FSU by social events and volunteer opportunities. Getting to know other transfer students has positively influenced my college experience and this organization has given me the opportunity to meet a diverse group of students that share my experience as a transfer.

Through this organization I have played intramural dodgeball, attended the FSU circus, went canoeing at the FSU reservation, and attended several other social events to meet new students. Our goal is to create a network where students feel welcome and get to know the Tallahassee area by events with this organization. Not only did we host social events, but we also recruited members through colleges throughout the panhandle as well as hosted a holiday extravaganza to collect cans for the FSU food bank and toys for a local charity.

In the Fall 2016 semester I was appointed the Executive Board President and guided the organization to increase involvement and membership, implemented stronger recruitment strategies, and helped achieved the organization’s goals for the fall semester. We had a successful semester with increased members at all of our events, greater organization for the club, and truly made a difference for several transfer students.
